Safeguarding Adults for NEW STAFF:-
20 Febraury 2020 from 10:00 – 16:30pm. This training is suitable for any frontline practitioner that is new to their role and/or has no prior knowledge in this area. In particular this is suitable for those working in social care services that have any direct contact with adults. This course is designed to give attendees an overall understanding and appreciation of what safeguarding adults is all about, and what responsibilities each attendee has in their own workplace.

Safeguarding Adults for Senior Staff in Provider Services
7 February 2020 from 10:00 – 16:30pm. This training is suitable for staff who work in a managerial or senior capacity in a health or social care provider setting (e.g. residential homes, reablement, supported living, domiciliary care etc.). Participants should already have a good understanding of the basics of safeguarding adults as this is not an awareness session. A one-day training session to enable managers and senior staff to understand how to fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities effectively, and to work to achieve, wherever possible, the outcomes people want for themselves.

Safeguardig Adults Refresher
21 Janaury 2020 and 12 March 2020. This training is suitable for any frontline practitioner that has attended safeguarding adults training previously and requires a refresher to maintain their competencies. In particular this is suitable for those working in social care services that have any direct contact with adults. A half day courses designed to give attendees a refresher on the topic of safeguarding adults, and what responsibilities each attendee has in their own workplace. It also supports attendees to identify ways to improve their own practice.

Undertaking & Managing Section 42 Enquiries
There are a variety of dates for this training. This training is aimed at managers and practitioners who have a role to play in managing and undertaking Section 42 enquiries. This course is available to all organisations across the Isle of Wight, including Police, Health, Community Safety, Housing and the voluntary sector. There will be no cost to attend this course and it is being funded by the Isle of Wight Council. This offer aims to enable staff to increase their confidence, knowledge and skills in this area which should result in more effective and improved partnership working. This course will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to work effectively in situations where there is a risk of abuse and/or harm that has or will occur. Participants will develop their knowledge in key areas of law enabling them to be more confident in carrying out their role effectively with regards to safeguarding adults and Section 42 enquiry work.
