Community and Voluntary Sector Safeguarding Survey 2019

Your Voice Counts

The Isle of Wight has a strong and diverse voluntary and community sector which support local people with a huge range of issues. Healthwatch Isle of Wight and People Matter IW are working with the Local Safeguarding Adults Board to look at ways of improving communication between the IOW Council Safeguarding team and community sector organisations and help make it easier to report safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding means protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect, making sure that the adult’s well-being is promoted and to include, having regard to their views, wishes, feelings and beliefs in deciding on any action. Abuse can include physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, emotional abuse, financial abuse, modern slavery, discrimination, neglect, self-neglect and organisational abuse.

It would be really helpful to know about people’s experiences with reporting safeguarding concerns, whether it has been positive and whether the process could be improved.

This survey contains 5 questions in 2 sections and will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Each section gives you the opportunity to expand on your answers and give further feedback if you would like to comment further.

Please take a few minutes to fill in this questionnaire, answering as many or few questions as you wish.
