Domestic Abuse, Stalking & ‘Honour’-Based Violence

The course will combine information and activities to help participants understand the importance of the DASH risk assessment (Domestic Abuse, Stalking and ‘Honour’-Based-Violence Risk Identification Checklist)
Target group
This course is for professionals working with parents and carers.
Course aims
This session aims to build your confidence and knowledge to complete the DASH risk assessment effectively. It will help you understand the purpose of each question and demonstrate how to ask them in practice.
Intended impact
By the end of the session, you will have an in-depth awareness of domestic abuse, including coercive and controlling behaviour. You will be able to recognise high-risk factors, understand their importance, and identify different risk levels. The course will also guide you through each DASH question, explaining its relevance and significance in assessing risk, and give you the opportunity to practise using the tool within a scenario.
