About the Safeguarding Adults Board

The Safeguarding Adults Board is a statutory partnership established under the Care Act 2014. The Board brings together organisations with safeguarding responsibilities to coordinate and improve local safeguarding arrangements.

The Board is not a separate public authority for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Board Papers and Minutes

Board meetings provide a forum for strategic discussion, challenge, assurance, and learning between partner organisations. To enable open and effective dialogue, Board and subgroup papers may contain:

  • Sensitive safeguarding information
  • Information provided by partner agencies
  • Draft proposals and recommendations
  • Confidential operational and organisational information

For this reason, Board agendas, papers and minutes are not routinely published unless the Board has specifically agreed that they should be made publicly available.

Requests for Information

Individuals seeking information relating to the work of the Safeguarding Adults Board may contact the Board’s Business Unit.

Where information is held by a partner organisation for its own purposes, requests should be directed to that organisation in accordance with its Freedom of Information procedures.

Where partner organisations hold information solely on behalf of the Safeguarding Adults Board, the information may not be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
