
What is Multi-Agency Risk Management (MARM)?
MARM is a multi-agency approach, used where adults are at high risk of harm but don’t meet criteria for statutory adult safeguarding.
MARM brings together professionals from agencies like health, social care, police, housing and others. It can also include the adult at risk, their family, friends or other supporters involved in their life.
MARM helps the adult stay at the centre of the process. The framework helps professionals work together to understand risks and find ways to reduce them, particularly with complex cases.
MARM Notification Process
This local addition to 4LSAB policy aims to ensure that the MARM framework is understood and consistently applied by organisations across the Isle of Wight. Data collected will support the continued development of the MARM process and improvements in outcomes and experience for adults at risk.
If you are the lead agency for a MARM, please notify the IOW SAB by following these steps:

An easy complete form to let us know who attended the meeting, any risks or protected characteristics, and meeting outcomes.

Complete the MARM feedback form with the adult
This lets the adult, and any supporters such as carers or family members, give feedback on a MARM meeting they attended.

- advice on tools, tips or guides
- MARM training: individuals/groups, in person/Teams
